Allison Adams is director of research and scholarly writing in the Center for Faculty Development and Excellence. Her primary areas of responsibility are support for faculty as writers and researchers, including the Scholarly Writing and Publishing Fund, the CFDE Faculty Writing Groups, the Grantseekers' Institute, faculty writing retreats, public scholarship programming and support, and events such as Meet the Editor & Agent. She also coordinates events aimed to celebrate the achievements of Emory's intellectual community, including the annual Feast of Words celebration of Emory faculty authors and editors of recently published books and the CFDE's presence at the Decatur Book Festival every Labor Day weekend. Allison also has presented programs and workshops at conferences and other institutions around the country on "intellectual self-care for faculty."

Additionally, Allison has served as editor of ThoughtWork since its creation in 2000. Allison was previously the editor of The Academic Exchange, an assistant editor of Emory Magazine, and managing editor of Goizueta Business Magazine. She continues to work as a freelance scholarly editor. She came to Emory in 1994 from Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where she was director of publications. Allison holds a master's degree in English from Emory (2000) and a BA in English from Agnes Scott College (1989).
